keskiviikkona - on wednesday
Woke up at 8 am, breakfast, being at university at 10 for the welcome information & a stroll around the university buildings. After lunch we had our first finnish lessons:
Päivää! Mikä sunun nimi on? Minun nimi on Maria.
Minkämaalainen sinä olet? Olen itävaltalainen.
Mitä sinun puhelinnummero on? Minun numero on ... .
Afterwards going to the registration office and then to the office of the public transportation to get a travelcard. I really like this one - seems to have an RFID-Chip in it as it works with just putting it near the machine and so now as I have a monthly ticket I can go as much as I want to!! :)
Then walking around with a girl from upper austria (so no chance of speaking w/out dialect afterwards ;) ) and 3 (kolme) guys from France.
And I had my first Sauna today - there's free public Sauna in this building every Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm.
And there was Sun the whole day today - I'm happy :)

Tiistaina - on tuesday
Today in the morning (got up at 8:30 which actually would be 7:30) and went by foot to the city center with a little detour to see more of my surroundings ;) Managed to check in with hoas and there they told me, that I have to do some strange things with a cd if I want to get internet. Found also a network cable and saw quite some bit of town on my way to the railway station.
drank my first coffee in Finland here and at noon I went to the university building porthania with my pickup-girl Sanna and a girl from Estonia and had lunch there also.
Afterwards back to the appartment to do some shopping at Lidl and when coming back into the appartment at 3 or 4 there were some more girls arrived already. Gabija from Lithuania, Francesca from Italy and Agnieszka from Poland. Franci, Aga and I later went for a walk in the town center also to the seaside which was quite nice although it was raining and the wind was going quite strong.
In the evening we three were sitting in the kitchen and chatting - realized I'm the oldest one of us.
Late in the evening the last girl came - she is from London and here luggage also is not here yet.

Arrival
Somehow that seems to get a tradition slowly - every time I arrive somewhere, it is raining heavily there. Well, it doesn't really change anything, but still I find it funny ;)
Anyway, as you can see, I arrived safely in Helsinki in the evening, heavy clouds hanging over the city so that there was nothing to see during landing.
Air Berlin has elevator music in their airplanes and the Dusseldorf Airport is really really boring. But I liked the Helsinki one - they have wooden floors in the waiting rooms which makes a very nice flair. The only strange thing was, that there were nearly no people there.
Sanna was already waiting for me - it was a girl ;)
The 'apartment' is also quite nice, although I think I will have it for me alone for the time being as my 4 flatmates are not here. Everybody has their own small lockable room and we even have two toilets ;)
The only thing now is to find a network cable - as they do not have wlan - only a plug-able connection.
