it is so great to be in the shadow again!! drinking a cool beer with your brother!
but now the long story:
i was biking the last two days with my parents. we went along the pielachtalradweg from home to kirchberg an der pielach by bike. from there to mitterbach we went with the mariazellerbahn up the mountain (with a short detour on the gemeindealpe to go down on a downhill scooter) with the final destination mariazell. after visiting the basilica and having some food we stayed overnight at a small inn on our way.
Today we went on our way, first up the hill to gscheid (1000m) and from there on it was all down the hill :) maximum speed for this i think was like 57km/h, at 12% slope. the new traisentalradweg is really nice, i just don't think that it is a good idea to do it all in one day without any training.
We went on there till Traisen, there I boarded the train and went home. my parents took the long way home by bike and so arrived like three hours after me.
all in all it was a very nice trip, especially as it basically was the first time this summer that i really did get to see some sun. we also passed quite some fields with sunflowers, those i liked a lot.
the only thing was, that we chose about the hottest days in summer to do the trip and biking in the sun with kinda 4.5 litres needed for drinking is hard. heck, it almost had 40 degrees!
but thanks to my flag i did not get a sunburn :)
yeah and what this fishmarathon is all about, i don't really know. we just saw an announcement for it. there are two theories, either everybody takes a real fish and the person wins where the fish takes the right direction for the longest time or it is whose plastic fish comes farthest/ or fastest to a certain point.
any other ideas?
tomorrow it goes back to vienna to donauinsel for me - and i'm back in the world of internets! :)
