Matka Suomessa Tammikuussa - Teil 1

We left Helsinki around noon and went to Porvoo first. Porvoo is one of the oldest towns in Finland and one of the few which feature the traditional wooden architecture. After a bit of sightseeing in the last light available, we went on to Kotka, a nice town at the sea. As it was already too dark to see more than the church, we went to Pub Jaakko V to have a cup of coffee. I really like the place :)
Finally we continued through the snow to Lapeenranta where we stayed overnight in a Finnhostel. Here we went across a lake for the first time, it was already safely frozen and people were cross-country skiing across it. Dinner at Rosso's (a typical place in Finland, but it was here we saw it first), some sightseeing in the night (Fortress, Harbour, ... in remembrance of the hint that our travel guide in Russia gave us: Even if the weather really sucks, most buildings are illuminated during the night and look good that way)
The evening ended with a beer in a Pub and discussions about Music in Finland, only here you can 'California Dreaming' followed by 'Amorphis'.
